Sleep Apnea Therapy

Get Your Life Back One Night at a Time

Tired and frustrated woman in need of sleep apnea therapy

Sometimes you can be suffering from sleep apnea and not even realize it. Often someone’s partner will notice the signs first. Do you wake up exhausted even with a full night’s sleep or have sudden night wakings? Has someone told you that you snore? Do you wake up gasping for air? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then you may be living with the effects of sleep apnea. Learn more about sleep apnea therapy in Aurora, IL on this page.

Why Choose Sommers Family Dental for Sleep Apnea Therapy?

The Effects of Sleep Apnea

Tired woman at work needs sleep apnea treatment

While you sleep, the soft tissues in the back of your neck relax. For some people, the airway narrows to the point that it causes vibrations, which lead to snoring.

In some cases, your air passage can become completely blocked. This is called obstructive sleep apnea and is more serious. This interrupted breathing leads to oxygen deprivation and serious health conditions, such as high blood pressure.

At Sommers Family Dental, we can treat your sleep apnea with a simple mandibular device. This will pull your jaw forward into its proper position and open up your air passage, allowing you to breathe freely.

Treatment for Sleep Apnea

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has pronounced oral appliances as the preferred method of treatment for sleep apnea and snoring. At Sommers Family Dental we offer two types of oral appliances in order to provide adequate treatment no matter what your budget: SomnoMed and Silent Nite. In some cases, your medical insurance will cover the cost of the appliance. We’ll work with your physician to help get you a prescription and minimize your cost.
